File system
One disk, mounted everywhere.
A POSIX-compatible file system backed by object storage. Mount it on Linux or in Kubernetes, read it over the S3 API, and on a paid plan, start from a bucket you already have.
Shared like a bucket, fast like a disk.
Archil's client speaks a custom storage protocol built for small-file work like git.
How it worksOur bucket, or yours
Disks use Archil-managed storage by default. On Developer and Team, point one at your S3, GCS, or R2 bucket instead, and each file is an ordinary object at its path.
npm ci, 598 packages
git checkout of an old tag, react
11× faster npm ci than Amazon EFS
In Archil's published one-host benchmark, npm ci took 7.6 s on Archil and 86.3 s on Amazon EFS.
mounted --shared at /data
archil checkout /data/agents/1
writes agents/1/
archil checkout /data/agents/2
writes agents/2/
echo ok > /data/agents/1/a.md
EROFS: Read-only file system
Up to 5,000 connected clients on one disk
In shared mode, each client checks out the paths it writes, and every other client keeps reading them.
Mount it like any other disk.
Install the client with one command, then mount with archil mount. The same files are an S3 bucket too, named by the disk's ID.

Generally available in AWS us-east-1, us-west-2, and eu-west-1 and GCP us-central1, or in your own cloud or on bare metal with BYOC on Enterprise.
Sandboxes
A sandbox's root filesystem is an Archil disk, and it can mount other disks you own in the same region.
$ cat /mnt/agent-data/results.json
{ "suite": "evals", "passed": 412, "failed": 3, "commit": "a41c9e2" }
Serverless tool calling
Run Bash, Python, or Node against a disk in a fresh microVM per call, in Archil's public AWS regions or BYOC, with no sandbox to manage.
